Possible Disposal Sites for Hog Waste

This document is based on court records, and the county plat books.  Court records used are the nutrient (manure) management plan (for Youngs’ property), and the identification of agreements with other landowners for disposal of manure.  The plan includes identification of specific parcels, while the other landowner disposal sites are only identified by township.  Agreements have been made with Martin R. Fairchild for Fairchild farm, John Poffenberger for Poffenberger farm and John F. Homeier for Homeier farm, each for about 300 acres (about 900 acres total, in addition to the Young properties). Based on the plat book, an estimate of the potentially effected parcels was made, along with the specific Young tracts.  Notes:  This representation has significant inherent uncertainty, and does not represent known exact parcels that may be used by the three cooperating property owners.  Uncertainty factors potentially include inaccuracies in the plat book and incorrect assumptions regarding which parcels may be subject to the agreements.  Some of the parcels are only partially highlighted given the presence of wooded areas and streams.  The property owners have discretion regarding which parcels Young can use, and the overall implied ownership on the map may not be correct.  Users are cautioned of the limitations, and are encouraged to undertake their own analyses and interpretations.
